Pet Essentials has been in business since 1997. Originally from Wairoa, Denis and Bernadine were always interested in feeding raw meat to their pets and were always trying to source it. They originally saw the concept in Perth while living over there and were feeding their first rhodesian ridgeback on it and when they saw the opportunity to open a shop like that in Napier, they jumped at the chance.

They have 2 Rhodesian ridgebacks Reba and Thai, 2 cats Smudge and Moon, 2 horses Chevy and Flair which keep them very busy but extremely happy.

We believe in helping you and your pet/s to have the best food, advice and service possible. Because we stock a large range of foods and accessories, we are able to work with you, our customer to find a food, combination of foods or products to suit your pet, lifestyle and your budget.

With over 15 years experience in the pet industry and close to 30 years breeding, training and showing dogs, Murray & Leslie Hill are confident they have the knowledge to be able to advise their customers from the purchase of their pets, through to their care and nutrition and many health issues.
